i got the job!! ;) wow. first response and first interview. that job hunt took no time at all. i'm so glad, too, because the job hunt of 08-09 was disparaging. SO. a sigh of relief.
i will begin my new office position in two weeks. the company is ck specialty insurance associates inc., locally and family owned, and based in california. the second office is here in sherwood, providing me with a whopping two minute commute. if my bike wasn't broken, i could ride to work just like dan does in the summer.
it is an entry level position with room to take on additional responsibilities, which they trust i will do. i do not like to be bored, so believe me, i will find things to get done. i was a tad bit overqualified for the job, but i couldn't pass it up. they are getting a darn good deal by hiring me. ;)
aside from the location, the other benefits are...drum roll please...the benefits! ;) for the first time in my life, i will have full medical coverage from my employer! wow! unbelievable. i'll also get vacation and other special things that make me feel like such a grown up.
so thank you all for your well wishes...it gave me hope.

excitement.
i have a job interview tomorrow. we are entering into what we hope will be the post-retail phase of my life. i gave my two weeks to cost plus, so i'm throwing my resume out as fast and as far as possible.
more excitement.
guess who drove across the country to see me!? my hattie belle! ;) x ox xo oxox she arrived last night with our friend, andrea, after leaving chicago friday. i found it odd but delightful that on my drive home from work i was envisioning what we would do tonight. sitting around, sharing a meal, nothing special even...it can be so good for the soul when it is with someone you love.
