perfect for swooning:

i had the pleasure of taking myself on a date today. i chose to see remember me because it was a movie dan wouldn't mind missing. while he went grocery shopping and tended to rocco and louie, i bought a bucket of popcorn and joined seven strangers for a saturday matinee.

it turned out to be better than i expected.

pattinson's performance is only a slight variation of his previous ones in twilight and new moon, but i'm not going to complain. i'd watch him read the phone book. (if you want to see him really use his acting chops, check out this movie about salvador dalí, little ashes.) and emelie's character wasn't too far removed from her character, claire, on lost, but once again, i'm not going to complain. they were both lovely and their youthful angst and combined chemistry had me swooning.

two unexpected highlights were the performance by ruby jerins, who plays a crucial role as pattinson's little sister, and the use of "andvari" by sigur rós during the lovemaking scene, followed by "parasol" by the sea and cake (our favorite song by dan's favorite band.)

three stars = i liked it and i would rent it. it's not crucial to see in the theater, but if you want to, i would recommend seeing it before you hear too much about it because there are spoilers.
