I had a lot of birthdays recently to celebrate in February and March, and it was also super fun to take Raine to his first few birthday parties! (Not that he really has a clue what is going on...)
In February,
Baby Nathan and
Baby Enzo both turned 1! Wow! Where did the time go!? Oh my goodness. We weren't able to celebrate with the Catlett family at Nathan's birthday party but I mailed
a gift and then showered him with hugs and kisses when we visited two weeks later. ;) He is weaned and eating (tons and tons) of solid foods, and crawling -quickly to keep up with his older brother and sisters! He has had a few bumps and bruises and health scares in his short 12 months, so celebrating his 1st was extra special for April, I think.

Enzo's birthday party was a lovely and crowded occasion! Melissa had a big turn-out for his bash, a cute
mustache themed event at the local
Laurelwood Brewery (only in Portland?) Mel sewed little bows and bow-ties for the children and an assortment of 'staches were available, too. ;) I LUV how creative and talented she is!

Raine also crashed a dance-class themed party for his caregiver's oldest daughter, who turned 5. He was by far the youngest kiddo in attendance, so he didn't participate in the games but oh boy, did he LUV to watch!

At the end of the party all of the kids sat in a circle on little carpet
mats and waited their turn as the birthday girl called their name to
bring her their gift. Raine was last and she had already received very
cool toys from everyone, so I was afraid our gift of clothing (I LUV a chance to buy
Tea!)
was going to be anti-climactic! LOL. Fortunately, she
was excited by the "fancy" clothes and put them on right there on the
spot! Success.

March birthdays included lots of family: Tom, Char, my mom, and
Logan. Of course I sent cards to everyone (...have you noticed how much I LUV snail mail!?) I can really
hardly believe that our little Nef just turned FOUR. Goodness gracious. He spent the week livin' it UP in
Florida. Rachel and family went to all of the Disney theme parks and
then beach lounged at Sanibel Island. I would venture a guess that it
was Logan's favorite birthday yet! ;) He also had a Super Mario themed party. I sent a card and gift. I had to google "toys for four year olds" because aside from Thomas the Train (we did Thomas gifts at Christmas) and Nintendo, I had no idea what to get him. I liked the look of an educational toy,
See and Spell, on a
list of toys for four year old boys at Fat Brain Toys and was lucky to find it at our local toy store (great because I was looking last minute!) I hope he likes it even though it isn't super flashy and exciting. He started preschool recently so I thought it would jive with all the things he is beginning to learn.
Noah also celebrated his 3rd birthday in March. I forgot to send him a birthday card the last two years, (Oops.) So this
year he got a card and a little gift card to use at Target to pick out whatever he wants. Gotta LUV gift cards. April sent us emails from both Nathan and Noah, thanking us for their gifts. So sweet.
And here we are, already in April (!) and Sunday is Dan's birthday. We started celebrating last night with carrot cake, cupcakes, and a couple different birthday songs by Lily and Anna. More about our time here in Colorado later this week....!
