We chose The Farm Cafe (even though we have been there before) because 1.) For last minute, we knew that it would be Raine friendly 2.) We knew our friends would love it, and 3.) Our friend Patrick was working. Yea!
We had a wonderful time. Major deliciousness occurred! Everyone was pleased with what they ordered and we were all eager to share our plates. (That's the best part!) AND Raine was so well behaved and sweet and happy. I thanked my stars. (This weekend has been very hot and cold with him...Well, mostly cold. Mama needed a break!)
We (including Raine sometimes in small bites!) enjoyed the following:
APPS
~Brie served warm with toasted sugar, roasted hazelnuts, apples, and baguette
~Broccoli fritters with horseradish crème fraîche
~Fried artichokes with lemon aioli
MAIN
~Gnocchi sauteed with wild ramps in a toasted pecan pesto (Leah and Andy)
~Wild mushroom risotto with pickled sea beans and spruce needles (Dan)
~Handmade ravioli stuffed with asparagus, sauteed shallots, ricotta and Parmesan, drizzled with a lemon-butter sauce then finished with fresh
mint and asparagus tips (Mary)
~Breaded and herbed tofu cutlets served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and Crimini mushroom Marsala (Sara)
DESSERT (All baked to order!)
~Sunken chocolate souffle with coffee ice cream
~Rhubarb crisp with vanilla soy ice cream
