Baby's size and development ? About 4" long and 3 oz.
Changes in me? I have gained 7 lbs! Holy moly!
Maternity clothes? My belly is swelling, for sure. I am in the position of being able to choose whether or not I want to "look" pregnant. :) If I wear a top that is fitted, I can really accentuate the tiny bump, or I can just wear loose tops and appear normal. Like I said in a post before, I bought a few tops, and I will probably have to buy some pants or a belly band in the next two weeks. For the most part though, I am counting on April and Megan to supply me with cute maternity clothes! :)
Sleep? Yuck. I still wake up to pee every two or three hours. I am trying not to drink as much fluids at night in order to avoid this. I am also trying to sleep on my side but it is so hard!!! Because of chronic pain in my shoulders and neck, I trained myself to sleep on my back a year ago and now I love it. I read that lying on my back will put the weight of my uterus on a major artery and inhibit circulation. That might explain why I wake up with my hands and arms asleep. To try to make sleeping on my side more comfortable, we bought me a body pillow ($10, thanks IKEA...except it came with a neon green case. WTF? I named it "Sleepy Pickle.") It helps but I find myself wanting to get another one, so that I have support at my back. All the more reason for a king size bed!!! ;)
Best moment this past week? Hm...There were so many! 1.) Hearing blasty's heartbeat today at the Dr's office. Fast and strong!!! :) 2.) My massage last night. I did NOT want to leave that table when my hour was up! 3.) Surprise phone call in the middle of the day from Megan...I was feeling crummy and she made me laugh! 4.) Seeing the nursery after Dan finished painting the walls. It looks like a brand new room!!!
Movement? I MAY have had my first feeling. While Dan was painting on Sunday, I took a nap on the couch. I woke up and switched from my left side to the right, and I felt something in my abdomen, similar to if a muscle was twitching. It was brief and I haven't felt anything like it since, so I don't know if it was blasty. But I like to think so. :)
Symptoms? Lots of annoying mucus. Frequent urination. Fatigue. Some constipation. Acne. Headaches.
What I miss? Having energy! I let it get me a little depressed the past two weeks and I stopped going to the gym and taking Rocco for walks.
What I'm looking forward to? I'm NOT looking forward to dropping Dan off at the airport tomorrow, but I AM looking forward to having the day off and getting a long weekend. I am hoping to pull off some sort of neat project while he is away. I like surprising him. And he has been working so hard around the house, he deserves something special. What should I do....?
♥
I filled this survey out several weeks ago but forgot to share it. Here it is if you want a comparison...!
How far along? 10 weeks 1 day
Baby's size and development ? 1" long and will be 2" long at the end of this week. He is growing fast now!
Changes in me? I have gained 3 lbs since we found out but no real "show" yet. Unless you count a bloated belly.
Maternity clothes? Nope, not yet. But I took some new pants to the dry cleaners to get hemmed and developed a crush on the girl working, who happens to be 31 weeks. She informed me that you can get away with wearing regular pants unbuttoned if you wear a "belly band."
Sleep? I wake up every two hours to go to the bathroom. Rocco has been crying in his kennel and keeping me up as well. It's like he is giving me practice.
Best moment this past week? Seeing blasty's heart beat again. Telling "our story" to Jess and also telling Melissa I was pregnant. :)
Movement? Nope, I think I have a long way to go with this. With his limbs formed and muscle control, he IS moving now but too small for me to feel it.
Symptoms? Frequent urination. Fatigue. Occasional nausea/sensitivity to smell. Bloating and poor appetite. Poor circulation. Tender breasts. Acne. Nightly headaches.
What I miss? Enjoying food.
What I'm looking forward to? Our next appointment when Dan and I will both get to see blasty again and maybe hear his heartbeat! :)

That was definitely the baby that you felt. Feels kind of like a little flutter....until he (or she!) gets bigger and sticks a food in your ribcage....no mistaking that one!
Love!
I felt the babies for the first time at 18 weeks and then at 14 weeks. It's definitely one of the things I miss about being pregnant. I remember my midwife explaining to me that feeling the baby move is like a magical secret - only you can feel it. You can be having a conversation with someone or working behind your desk or sewing or planting and then out of nowhere, the baby sparks a movement conversation with you. Just you. Just magical. Enjoy it... When you start to feel it more and more, it might help with the loneliness.
So much joy to you three! xoxo
