Card for GG Karpiak, by my most favorite Rifle Paper Co. |
Finish each day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities
no doubt have crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely
and with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with
your old nonsense.
This day is all that is
good and fair.
It is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations
to waste a moment on yesterdays.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson, in a letter to his daughter
(Totally swiped that from Christie's post Sage advice for the new year at life at the condo.)
Cheers to 2013! I have high hopes for this year. ;-)

I absolutely love this poem and would like to remember it every day. It may need to be embroidered and hung on my wall. xoxo
That's a great idea, Laura! I should hang it up too, because it is a great one to live by. Otherwise I will forget about it entirely now that it went out into the black hole blogosphere. ;)
