I did the best I could. I showered. I dried my hair and wore it down. I put on a new sweater and nice boots. Dan thought I looked great. He said my hair was shiny and pretty. :)
It's only been 5 months since we spent an evening alone together. No big deal, right? Sheesh. I suddenly realized how badly I needed time with my hubby that didn't involve thinking of him as .....My Roommate. I needed some sparks, please. Some holding hands. And also, eating at the same time. Warm food. Talking without being interrupted. So simple.
We dropped off Raine at Matt & Gayle's and went out to dinner! Just me and him. We went to our favorite place in town, Sawatdee. I had Pad Thai (Thin rice noodles stir-fried with chicken, eggs, bean sprouts, green onions, and crushed peanuts with lime for drizzle.)
Dan had Lana's Favorite (Thin rice noodles with pork, red onions, and bean sprouts in Thai yellow curry, topped with crushed peanuts, and lemon to drizzle. And if you are Dan, a crap load of chili paste.)
Our super cute baby and how super cute he is totally found its way into the conversation.
After dinner, we tried a frozen yogurt place. It's the kind of yogurt place where you make whatever you want with your yogurt cup and they charge you by the ounce. There were gummy worms, waffle pieces, hot caramel, bacon bits. You get the idea. I would never, ever NORMALLY sit down to eat five Oreos and seven mini Reese's peanut butter cups. But I did at that yogurt place. Oh yes, I did.
I think the goal for our next date night is to increase the amount of time (this date was three hours). And try to look a little less tired than we did. :) Maybe watch a movie because we just recently rented Moneyball (awesome!) and it nearly took us three days to watch the whole thing!

You look great! And what an awesome date night. :) I realize we're sort of far away but if you ever want to take a trip to enjoy beautiful downtown P-town, feel free to drop your little one off at the condo. I'm sorry I haven't offered before now. I can't remember much these days. It's the curse of the SAHMama.
I second that motion! If you ever want to do anything in our neck of the woods, just leave Raine with us! We'd love to accommodate your alone time with your hubby, it's important!
xoxo
