Halloween 2011

Our little doggie. Oh my goodness, it was too cute for words! Thanks to Miss Lorri for the costume. ;-)

His trick-or-treat bag and pumpkin (I skipped carving and opted for magic marker ... I'm a new mom, not Martha Stewart.) A card from his cousins Lexi and Logan, and mama's cute little spider candle that he loves to look at, from Char. Oh! And that cute little handmade felt banner was a gift from Meghan!)
Grandma Char sent a Halloween package full of goodies from the Great Pumpkin. Raine got a monster mash book that plays sounds and music!

Baby Raine's first holiday weekend was pretty fun. ;-)

I had high ambitions to attend this fabulous party Saturday night, with a super cool little baby Raine dressed as Vincent Van Gogh, but I couldn't quite muster the energy and baby Enzo had his first cold so we didn't want to take a chance that Raine would catch it. :( I was really excited about dressing him up as Van Gogh, too. I was going to make him a little painters smock, bandage one of his ears, and give him a palette and paintbrush. ;-) Maybe next year?

Instead, we gathered at the home of the Sherwood 7 (Actually Sherwood 11! They were plus Gayle's sister and her partner from Eugene, and Gayle's father and his wife from California) for some homemade chili and conversation. On Sunday we filled our tummies with more homemade food at Carmen and Lorri's. Poutine and some sort of chocolate and toffee brittle with ice cream were on the menu!

By Monday I felt rested so despite the fact that it was a giant day (It was my first day back to work and Raine's first day with his new daycare provider, Miss Tina), I HAD to make sure we had some Halloween-y stuff done. We again joined the Sherwood 7 (minus the eldest, but still plus dad and his wife :)) for trick-or-treating. However, by the time the kids were heading out for candy, Raine was just waking up from a long doggie nap and more interested in boob time with mommy. After he had eaten and had two diaper changes, we ended up just posing outside Matt and Gayle's door and then called it a night! LOL. Apparently we weren't the only ones who didn't venture out in the neighborhood. The doorbell only rang 3 times all night and the kids said nobody was home when they went out. It was a shame because Matt and Gayle had some great decorations in the yard, complete with a fog machine!

Maybe next year it will be more exciting if it isn't on a Monday night!

The lighted path to the haunted house. Watch out for the hanging heads and Harley ghost!

Gayle gives Garret the proper football zombie appearance.
Holding my little doggie in the kitchen, waiting for the BLTs to be served up!!!
Dan's photo of the night: Bacon grease (?) and the whiskey he and Matt were sharing.

Doggie's awake! ;-)

Don't be scared!

He's the sweetest little puppy I've ever seen! Next year's party will be so much fun because BOTH the boys will be running around! That will be awesome! : ) xoxo

Post and Pictures are great. Looks like the family's first Halloween was special. It goes without saying Raine is adorable as always.
